"FanGirl" By: Rainbow Rowell was Good, but not as great as I had hoped it would be.
Let me start the review this way, I had EXTREMELY high hopes for this book, but that may also be why it wasn't as great as I had hoped. Let me explain...
The Good
- I liked how Cath's fan fiction turned out to be a character in and of itself. I liked that Rainbow Rowell had a very in depth discussion on the topic with the reader throughout the story.
- I liked how this book dealt with adult topics such as mental illness, loneliness, and eating disorders.
- I even liked the coming of age story for the main twin characters, Cath and Wren.
The Not So Good
- The romance between Cath and Levi, I just wasn't impressed by. It didn't read to me as believable, but then again, I'm not that impressed by most romantic writings, to be fair.
All in all, the good parts out numbered the not so good parts, but it wasn't a life changing read by any means. However, I would pick up another book by this author, as I think she has quite an interesting style.
