Like most of you I'm an avid reader. I'm hoping to re-connect with old friends, make new friends, and of course spread the love of reading and writing around to everyone!
Another good read from Sarah Addison Allen. However, I had to knock a star off of this one because in my opinion the ending was just too perfect, wrapped up with a neat little bow on top of the cake box, so to speak. With that said I just loved the characters in this one a whole bunch. Julia, Emily, Sawyer, Win and Grandpa Vance were really well developed. I liked the bits of magical realism too like the wallpaper in Emily's room that changes throughout the story, Win's family secret, Sawyer's sugar sense, and Julia's ability to make cakes that bring people together. This is a great book to start out with if you've never read anything by this author before, as well as, being a "charmed" and "sweet" book for fan's of Sarah's.
