Kate Says: "Reading Is Fun!"
Like most of you I'm an avid reader. I'm hoping to re-connect with old friends, make new friends, and of course spread the love of reading and writing around to everyone!

I Really Wanted To Like This Book More
It's not everyday you run across a main character in a book that is a child librarian, which this book had. Unfortunately, Lucy, annoyed the heck out of me. I can't really put my finger on what exactly it was that annoyed me the most about her, but I really liked Ian, the other character.
I also liked the book title parodies and games, as well as, the ethical, moral, and legal issues that abound in this book. Unfortunately, these things are never fully resolved and instead become distracted by the road trip, which I wanted to like more than I actually did.
However, I think Makkai has real talent. This is just her first novel, so I have hope that she will blossom more with her next novel.
