Like most of you I'm an avid reader. I'm hoping to re-connect with old friends, make new friends, and of course spread the love of reading and writing around to everyone!
This was a well written mystery, in which the 'who done it' was fairly obvious, but it was the motive or the why, that kept me reading to the very end. I really liked the characters of Strike and Robin the best. They were interesting and fully developed. I also liked that the story was told mostly in dialogue, with descriptions of London thrown in for a sense of atmosphere.
Also, the secret's out that this is J.K. Rowling's pen name, but because I've been living under a rock, I had no idea about this until my friend who recommended it to me, told me once I was done. I think I was better off because I came to the story unprejudiced, even though I am a pretty big Rowling fan.
All in all, a fast paced read to the very end, and one of the better books I've finished reading at the end of this summer. I certainly will pick up the next book, just to see where the story will go next.
